A significant amount of DLS' business is centered around developing a system that runs on a PC or laptop connected to an instrument. The vast majority of these systems today have a USB cable connected to the instrument. The application
performs instrument control, presents the data to the user, and allows experimental setup and offline analysis when the instrument is turned off or disconnected.
